Now about me…

Bonjour. Bienvenue. Je m’appelle Kimberly.

Hello. Welcome. My name is Kimberly and I am your go to gal when it comes to helping you plan and organize your trip to Paris so you can maximize both your time and budget when visiting The City of Light.

My passion is Paris…and chocolate (although that may be more of an addiction).

The Paris Itinerary all started when a friend of mine asked me to help him and his fiancée plan their trip to Paris. I nearly broke out into tears from excitement. I knew at that moment I wanted to share my experiences with others.

You can learn all about the story here.

My travel philosophy is that it is totally okay to be a tourist because who is going to visit Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower!? But, I also like to sprinkle in traveler type experiences too.

To sum it all up…I’m half tourist. Half traveler. 100% passionate about Paris.

  1. Hello,
I read about your little secret to get the Louvre museum tickets. Since I am planning in advance and don’t want to take chances of buying from Tabac, I wanted to know what tickets would end up being better to avoid the long lines.
Buying reservation tickets from Louvre museum itself OR the Paris Pass which allows you to skip the lines? Which one would be better if you can please let us know.

Thanks for the Eiffel tower tips. Will definitely follow them.

    Great Blog!

    • Bonjour Rish!
Unfortunetly, the Tabac no longer sells the Louvre Museum tickets and the post has been updated. You can buy your ticket in advance via the Louvre Museum website or use a Museum Pass or Paris Pass.

  2. Thank you for this wonderful blog! I just wanted to mention that the tabac shop is no longer an option for Louvre tickets: they still sell the Museum Pass but no longer sell Louvre tickets. 🙁

A good alternative seems to be to buy the ticket directly from the Louvre web site on your smart phone while you’re outside the Louvre. You can then show them the ticket on your smartphone to get into the tickets only line.

    • Bonjour Ron!
Yes, I have updated the post to reflect that the Tabac no longer sells the Louvre Mueseum tickets. I think your are correct the best way will be via a smart phone directly from the Louvre Museum site.

  3. Hi Kimberley,
I read your site with interest, as I’ve just been to Paris for the 1st time, lots of useful tips , but unfortunately, you’ll need to change/delete your tip on beating the lines for tickets to The Louvre (at least with regards to collecting them from the Tabac via entrance 99 Rue du Louvre… As the Tabac no longer sells them (not since Jan 2018 apparently, the Louvre no longer works with other parties for ticket sales the guy at the store informed me ) They only sell a Museum pass for multiple museums and multi day visits.

    • Merci Glenn! Thank you for bringing the needed update to my attention. It is really too bad for this change since it was such a time saver.

  4. I will be in Paris on New Years Eve this year. Have you been there at that time and if yes would you recommend being outside at one of the monuments or attractions or inside at a venue of some sort? Also, what is the cost for the museum walk up pass vs. pre-purchase. Where can one purchase a ticket for a San-Chapelle concert?

    • Bonjour TJ!
I have not been in Paris during New Year’s Eve so I really am not qualified to comment on that subject.
By museum walk up pass do you mean the Paris Pass? I wrote an article about determing if it makes sense from a pricing standpoint. (https://theparisitinerary.com/the-paris-pass-oui-or-non/)
For a concert at Sainte-Chapelle, you can purchase at the ticket window on the lower level of Sainte-Chapelle. I would go a day or two before the event.

  5. Bonjour!
Thanks for the useful travelling tips regarding Paris.
This is Darren from Malaysia. I’ll be travelling to Paris in July.
I have a doubt which i hope you can help me in this.

I plan to get museum pass in Paris. Do i still need to queue in Louvre museum to get an entrance ticket? Or i can just queue in the line “with ticket”.

    • Hi Darren,
With the Paris Pass you can queue in the line “with ticket” or as it will be in French, “avec billet.”
      Bon Voyage!

  6. Hi Kimberley. I am going to Paris i July 2017 with my family. I can’t seem to get pre booked Eiffel Tower tickets to go up. I loved your tip about getting the Louvre Tickets from the tabac. Are there places to buy tickets to the EiffelTower too? Don’t want to wait in line for hours with kids!! Thanks
